Chapter Eleven

Elk, New Mexico

After flying in Agent Duff’s black helicopter to where they thought the Evans and Parkers were being held, Valenti felt a little ridiculous in the all black suit he was wearing. But as he stood up against the wall of the Special Unit holding house, he was glad to be wearing the latest bullet proof vest and carrying some of the FBI’s latest advances in weaponry. He knew he, and the teens, were very lucky to have Agent Duff on their side.

Under Duff’s command, Valenti stormed the house and took down two agents. Feeling something was wrong, he wondered why there weren’t more guards. Meeting up with Agent Duff, they both realized that the Evans and Parkers had been transferred to another facility. The last couple remaining guards, the ones they had already taken down, were only here to clean up.

Agent Duff remained downstairs to force information out of one of the guards while Valenti made his way upstairs to go through the half packed files.

Some time later, Duff entered the room where Valenti was researching and told Valenti she had gotten everything she could from the guard. Valenti wasn’t sure he wanted to know how she had gotten her information, but was glad to learn that the Evans and Parkers were still alive and being held at a Special Unit base in California.

Unable to read any of the files on the computer, since they were encrypted, Valenti and Duff decided to take all the files to Brody for safe keeping and then head off to California. Before they left, they took the guards, still bound and unconscious, outside and burned the FBI safe house to the ground.
